We were pleased to be involved in the passive fire stopping works during the construction of the new box freezer facilities, a new cold store, two new two-storey office buildings with canteen facilities, a new engineering store, and the internal refurbishment of the existing production buildings at Cranswick Foods, Preston.
In addition to completing the passive fire stopping installations throughout the main building, we were also commissioned to install a smoke curtain within the roof space of the box freezer. This was required to comply with the 20-metre roof space fire safety provisions set out within Approved Document B (Fire Safety) and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
The smoke curtain was installed to provide the necessary compartmentation within the roof void, limiting the spread of smoke and fire in accordance with the relevant fire strategy and regulatory requirements. All works were completed in accordance with the project specification, the manufacturer's installation instructions, and recognised industry best practices, ensuring full compliance with the applicable fire safety standards.
